It
has narrow, sessile leaves as opposed to P. grandiflora or P. vulgaris which
have broader leaves
In
the mint family with square stems
The
common name of ‘self-heal’ derives from it’s use in herbal medicine to heal
wounds and inflammations
Prunella species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera
species including Coleophora albitarsella
